Something to keep the hands busy

By betterornot

Mock me if you feel the need, but I can’t even imagine how much I would weigh if I weren’t a knitter. The reason why I started knitting had nothing to do with losing weight, but was merely a representation of my inability to sit and do one thing at a time. I used to feel like I was wasting so much time when I was watching t.v. or a movie.  I used to ry and read and watch but then I was always missing something.  Enter knitting, now I can watch t.v. or a movie and create fiber goodness at the same time. It wasn’t until I got pretty serious about the knitting that I realized just how i used to keep my hands busy.  (I do love the cheesy pringles).

As much as I like feeling productive while killing my brain cells with mindless t.v., I am not capable of exercising while watching t.v.  This isn’t so much about the exercise interrupting my television viewing, but more of the television getting in the way of a good work out.  Let me explain further, I hate exercise. I do it, but I don’t like it.  Therefore if I am going to do it, I better damn well burn enough calories to make it worth the loathsome time I am having. Watching t.v. doesn’t allow me to sweat as much as I need to.

Back to knitting, I am hereby expressing my gratitude to the knitting guides.  My hips are looking good and my abs are back.  Plus I have a really cute hat a pair of mittens, and two unfinished sweaters for my trouble.
